The firm’s reputation, for excellence in architecture was established early on in the 1970s when the renovation of a Texaco Service station located in Greenwich, Connecticut received First Place honors in a National Design Competition, and appeared as a feature cover story in the March 1973 AIA Journal.
During the firm’s 50 years of continued growth, SPA International P.C. has designed projects which range from new construction, interior design, additions, renovations and restoration projects. The important ingredient for the firm’s success is that each project, small and/or large is approached with the same professionalism, and service to the client is never compromised.

The firm is comprised of Licensed Architects, who head the project teams, with designers who are also technically oriented. A librarian with an architectural background whose sole responsibility is to update the library with the latest products, international information, and samples for architectural/interiors projects, seeks innovating products from around the world.

For the past 52 years, Steven P. Papadatos has led the firm he founded in creating innovative projects. Prior to founding this firm in 1969, he was employed with the New York engineering office of HNTB as a project architect involved with structures at Rutgers University and Buffalo International Airport.
After the World Trade Center bombing on February 26, 1993, Steven Papadatos was appointed to the World Trade Center Fact Finding Committee to study the effects of the bombing for the purpose of upgrading the New York City Building Code. The mission was to review new requirements that may be needed to prevent the incapacitation of high-rise office buildings from a signal event. Secondly, a comprehensive review of the Building Code was undertaken particularly in the fire safety areas. He has extensive national and international experience in designing projects that include major civic, retail, residential, corporate, and commercial complexes and buildings, transportation centers, infrastructure, and religious projects.
Steven Papadatos held the position of Instructor and Assistant Professor of Architecture at The Institute of Design & Construction and New York Institute of Technology. He lectured on topics of architecture, and Design Build at New York University and Management Procedures of architectural practice at the City University of New York.
Steven Papadatos was the design architect for the Cathedral and Archdiocesan Building in Tirana Albania. Also he designed the James W. Pihos Cultural Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, both projects have been nationally and internationally recognized and have received numerous design awards for its Excellence in Design.
Steven Papadatos is licensed as an architect in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, Florida and Wisconsin. He is licensed as a Professional Planner in the State of New Jersey. Also he is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
Peter Papadatos is a licensed architect in New York State and NCARB certified.
Since 1994, Peter has been responsible for Managing SPA International P.C. International’s Office located in Moscow, with capabilities of directing the Moscow operations via satellite office from Helsinki.
A graduate of N.Y. Institute of Technology in1989 with a degree in Architecture, he has developed branding design innovations for Dialog Bank, where Papadatos Partnership LLP was recognized for several Architectural Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Design. Also, he has designed and overseen construction for residences in Moscow and Turkey.
In addition, Peter has been involved with many significant projects in New York, including the renovation of 136 Madison Avenue, Renovation at 17 State Street for Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association and the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels Catwalk Shelter Booths.
A member of the SPA International P.C. team since 2005, Anthony Delimitros was extensively involved with renovations and restoration of FedEx Projects in the New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts Areas.
With 14 years of experience, he brings invaluable perspective, expertise and insight to the design and delivery process, especially towards the Port Authority of NY & NJ Design and Construction Process Having performed virtually every role in the design process during his career, he effectively assembles and coordinates project teams and directs all phases of the design and construction administration process. Anthony facilitates each detail of communication between the client, team members, and consultants by continually integrating his design skills and experience into the management of each project.
Anthony has worked on both the design and owner’s representation sides associated with airport, corporate, commercial, industrial and tenant improvement projects. With this diverse project experience, Anthony’s hands-on approach brings discerning judgment and unique practical skill to the execution of all aspects of architectural services. He has a clear design philosophy and is committed to working with each client to make sure that their needs and desires are met, ultimately leading to creative ways to address both functionality and sustainability in each project and provide the best functional and economical design approach of the clients and end users goals.
Saverio Crea arrived at SPA International P.C. with a diverse background and has been with the firm since 1977. Prior to joining SPA International P.C., Mr. Crea worked with DeSina & Pellegrino Architects. He was involved with production drawings, specifications, estimating and site inspections.
Mr. Crea was the Project Manager for several FedEx projects, for example, Obtaining the Certificate of Occupancy for 148 Leroy Street; Warehouse, Distribution Center & WSC, Fort Washington, PA and WTC DEA, 17th Street City Station, New York City. In addition, he was the Project Manager for the following Port Authority Projects: Journal Square Transportation Center in Jersey City New Jersey; the conversion of Building 141 at JFK Airport, New York City. Also, he was the Project Manager for the design of the Lobby at 136 Madison Avenue, New York City.
Saverio Crea is a Graduate of Italy’s Institute of Architecture and has attended Pratt Institute and Cooper Union. He is a licensed Architect in the States of New, New Jersey, Connecticut, Colorado and Virginia. He is also licensed as a Professional Planner in the State of New Jersey. Mr. Crea is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
Having graduated from the Caribbean School of Architecture in Jamaica with a Bachelor in Architecture. Lysanne is a LEED Accredited Professional who assists all project teams and project managers in LEED design and certification on multi-discipline projects requiring LEED certification. She manages the LEED design and certification process throughout design and construction to ensure complete criteria compliance.
Lysanne plays an integral role for SPA International P.C., her responsibilities serves towards the sustainability of the environment. To ensure the maximum level of accreditation within each project Lysanne researches up to date and new LEED technologies and strategies, as well as staying current in LEED criteria. She is also responsible with mentoring and educating in-house staff on LEED strategies.
Prior to joining SPA International P.C.in 1979, Sophia Gatanas majored in Political Science with a minor in Psychology at Queens College.
At SPA International P.C., Sophia is responsible for the management of the firm, public relations and business development. Her interaction with the clientele is invaluable to success of the firm.
